Honda City features

A strong, all-rounder performer

You'll feel it from your first test drive. For a car this size, the new Honda City kicks it up a notch. It delivers high-output power as well as amazing fuel efficiency and environmentally friendly performance. You'll be looking good and feeling very smart.

Serious fuel efficiency

The 5-speed automatic City uses just 6.6 litres of fuel per 100km, the manual just 6.3.* So you can drive past your local servo a lot more often. Sweet as.

* The fuel consumption figure is based on ADR81/02 combined test results for City manual transmission.

Inside the engine of the City

Max power. Min fuel. That's the big idea of the 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine under the bonnet of the City.

What's i-VTEC all about? This breakthrough technology continuously varies the engine's valve intakes to meet changing power demands. It's how the City can deliver impressive levels of maximum power (88kW at 6600rpm) and torque (145Nm at 4800rpm), without compromising overall fuel efficiency.

A sprinter's stance

The City puts sports style front and centre, with a bold grille that arches into wrap-around slit headlights. This powerful face flows into the City's aerodynamic body and amped-up rear deck. This car is poised for take off even before you get inside.

Distinctive, energetic lines

From every angle, the City impresses with its dramatic lines and aggressive contours. This car changes all the rules for compact sedans.

Wheels that grip the road

Under strong wheel arches, the City's 15" steel wheels (VTi) and 16" alloys (VTi-L) enhance the City's athletic looks as well as its on-road performance.

Aerodynamic smarts

The City's "arrow shot form" doesn't just create a forceful visual impression. This aerodynamic design helps it slip through the air with maximum efficiency.

Hop inside. This car is amazing.

You need to experience this to fully appreciate it: the Honda City is a compact car with plenty of room inside. There's space for everybody – and their stuff. The driver is especially well looked after, with a cockpit that looks and feels great.

More boot space than a Holden Commodore

With 506 litres of boot capacity, the City can carry four golf bags, or pretty much anything else you need to toss in. What's more, you can stow a board or bicycle by folding down the 60:40 split rear seats.

Bring your (big) friends along for the ride

When you hit the road with your mates, you'll all be pleasantly chuffed about City's remarkable head and legroom. In fact, when it comes to cabin space, it beats every other car in its class.*

*1.5 litre light sedan class

Crank it up. City knows what your music means.

The City keeps you connected to the music you love. That means ports for more players and the flexibility to play a range of digital file types. Like music itself, the City breaks through boundaries and makes you feel good every time.

What's your player?

iPod. MP3. USB. CD. With the City, it’s your call. City’s USB and AUX jacks, along with its CD player, are fully integrated with digital media dashboard controls. It’s something all cars will have someday. Why wait?

This City looks after you

When you're behind the wheel of the City, Honda safety innovations are protecting you and your passengers every step of the way. City helps prevent roadway mishaps and increase cabin protection with a very smart range of active and passive safety features.

5-star ANCAP safety rating

ANCAP is an independent organization that puts vehicles through rigorous testing to find out their level of safety in the event of a serious accident. We're proud to say the City has a 5-star rating.

What is G-Force Control?

Honda's G-Force Control Technology, or G-CON®, helps improve driving safety by controlling the forces of a collision's impact.
